Appointments
Mudgee Medical Centre operates on an appointment-only system to ensure efficient care for all patients. While we strive to run to schedule, delays may occur due to urgent medical cases. We appreciate your understanding.

Definition of new patient
Any patient marked as inactive in our Best Practice database.
Any patient that hasn’t seen a doctor at Mudgee Medical Centre in the last 7 years.
Any patient that has only had a vaccination, skin check or Pre-op anaesthetic check at Mudgee Medical Centre.
Any patient not on our current Best Practice database
Exceptions
Pregnant women or women planning to commence a family, skin checks with Dr Egan and children 18 years or under of our existing patients.
Booking an appointment
Appointments can be made by phone or in-person at the medical centre.
Same-Day Appointments
A limited number of appointments are allocated daily from 8.30am for urgent needs.
Extended time
If you require a longer consultation, please notify staff when booking.
Cancellations
Kindly notify us if you need to cancel your appointment. Our non-attendance fee is $55.
FAQs
Can I arrange a home visit if I’m unwell?
Yes, home visits or telephone consultations are available for patients who are unable to attend the medical centre.
Can I call my doctor during surgery hours?
Your doctor is accessible by telephone; however, calls to your doctor can inconvenience their patients whilst in a consultation. Your doctor will not take calls during consultations. Messages may be left to the attention of your doctor and will be dealt with as soon as practicable.
How do I get repeat prescriptions or referrals?
To ensure personalised healthcare, you will need to book a consultation for repeat prescriptions or referrals. If your doctor is unavailable, another doctor can assist.
Are there facilities for patients with disabilities?
Yes, the centre is wheelchair-accessible, with wheelchairs, disabled toilets, and a wheelchair-friendly reception counter available.
What facilities are available for children and babies?
The medical centre offers a play area and change table for children and babies, as well as a private area for breastfeeding.
What should I do if I have feedback or a complaint?
We encourage patients to address any concerns or suggestions directly with our practice. Please contact reception at (02) 6372 8100 and ask to speak to our practice manager, Colleen. If you prefer, you can also reach out to the Health Care Complaints Commission at Locked Bag 18, Strawberry Hills NSW 2012, call (02) 9219 7444, or visit their website at www.hccc.nsw.gov.au.
What are the consultation fees?
Please find our full list of fees below. Fees must be paid at the time of consultation. Bulk billing is available for healthcare cardholders and pensioners and some doctors will bulk bill children under 16 years of age. Bulk billing is not available on Saturday mornings or on private billing days.
Can I order a taxi from the centre?
Our reception staff can arrange a taxi for you.
How are test results handled?
Your doctor will advise how to follow-up on test results. This may involve scheduling a follow-up appointment or contacting the medical centre.
How is my personal information protected?
We adhere to the Privacy Act, treating all information as sensitive. Your details are only shared with health services involved in your care. For privacy concerns or access to your records, speak with the practice manager or your doctor.
Are health information brochures available?
Yes, brochures are available in the waiting area. If you can’t find what you need, please ask staff for assistance.
