Appointments
Mudgee Medical Centre runs an appointment system. You can make an appointment with your doctor by telephoning, calling in to the surgery or booking on-line via our website. Please note that there are only a limited number of appointments available to book on-line. These are for a standard 10 minute consultation only. There are also “keep” for the day appointments which can only be given out to patients from 8.30am onwards every day. Appointments are made at 10 minute intervals. When making your appointment please advise staff if you require extra time. Nobody likes to be kept waiting and we are all aware of this and try to adhere to appointment schedules. However, the unpredictable nature of medical practice means that doctors sometimes run behind time. This is mostly due to a patient requiring urgent medical attention. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to patients when we fall behind with our appointment schedule. If you no longer require your appointment a phone call would be appreciated, otherwise a fee may be charged for non-attendance. This will also allow us to re-allocate your appointment as needed.

Opening Hours
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm

Repeat Prescriptions and Referrals

A Teaching Practice
Mudgee Medical Centre is proud to be associated with the University of Wollongong as a teaching practice. Sometimes you will be asked by our reception staff if you consent to parallel consulting. Parallel consulting is where the medical student sees a patient before their booked appointment with their doctor. The student takes a history, does the appropriate examination/s, develops a differential diagnosis, investigation and treatment plan and then your doctor attends the consultation and the student presents the case to your doctor. It is important to note that the time spent with your doctor is not compromised by this arrangement. You actually receive a longer consultation and more time and attention is spent on your medical problem. the doctors understand that sometimes it is not appropriate, for various reasons, to have a student involved in your consultation. Therefore, please let the reception staff know if you do not wish to be involved in parallel consulting when asked. All the doctors at Mudgee Medical Centre participate in the training and mentoring of Medical Students.
